Another toy leak strikes again, this time potentially revealing the title for the upcoming Untitled Han Solo film. If the leak is legitimate, the film’s title will be Han Solo: A Star Wars Story.
As usual, details regarding the film have been difficult to find. Disney barely even mentioned the film at the D23 Expo in July. More than likely Disney is keeping details as close to the chest as possible due to concerns surrounding the production, such as directorial changes or the reports of Lucasfilm allegedly being unsatisfied with Alden Ehrenreich’s portrayal of the famous smuggler.
The image comes from Twitter user Girl with the Staff who posted a photo of toy production materials. The publication highlights new Star Wars LEGO microfighter sets. More important than the LEGO sets themselves is the logo for Han Solo: A Star Wars Story with a confidential watermark stamped across it on the left page. The design resembles that of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story only with subtle differences like the font style.
Naturally there is no confirmation that this will be the actual title of the film. The Untitled Han Solo film premiers a mere 5 months after The Last Jedi, so it’s a good bet that the licensing partners for Lucasfilm have already been working on promotional materials and products to tie-in to the film. Although most major spoilers and details aren’t shared with toy manufactures, it is possible that the official title or logo would be made available for packaging and other marketing materials.
Ultimately, the title would make sense. A Star Wars Story could be the moniker used moving forward to differentiate the Skywalker Saga from the new anthology and spin-off films. The Untitled Han Solo movie is supposed to wrap up shooting towards the end of September, so perhaps the studio will provide fans with a formal title and more details from the film.
The Untitled Han Solo film is set to release May 25, 2018.
