Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is only a fortnight away. Continuing their Star Wars-themed editions of the magazine, Empire has released two new images from the film. So far, Empire has released an image of Gareth Edwards filming the movie’s main character, played by Felicity Jones. Ben Mendelsohn, the ruthless villain alongside Darth Vader in the film, has also had a spot.
Now, we get a more in-depth look at three of the characters who are setting out on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. The first features Bodhi Rook, the ex-Imperial pilot who forms part of the Rogue One gang. The second is of another two Rogue One members — Baze Malbus and his long-time companion, Chirrut Îmwe.
Check out the images below:
Bodhi looks like he’s in a spot of trouble, trying to make a deal with these suspicious-looking creatures.
In addition to the image, Empire talked to Riz Ahmed, who plays Bodhi, about his character:
“He’s just a guy,” Riz said. “An everyman who finds himself thrust into the middle of historic events. He’s someone who is disconcerted by what they’re up against. It makes his decisions and choices much braver.”
This time, we have rebels Baze Chirrut. In the image above, they look disturbed by something. These two rebels are very close companions, but they have different ways of going about things.
Donnie Yen, who stars as Baze’s close companion, Chirrut Îmwe, spoke to Empire about how many resources the martial artist had at his disposal:
Yen told Empire that – even with his vast experience of Hong Kong martial arts movies – he was bowled over by the scale of the shoot. “I have never been on sets with so much resource. Oh my goodness.”
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story blasts into cinemas on December 14th.
