Star Wars: Republic Commando Composer Teases Work on a ‘Star Wars Project’

Probably one of the most beloved Star Wars games to come out before EA got the license was Star Wars: Republic Commando, and though the story may not be canon anymore, we do have some news that RC could find some kind of revival soon.

According to Cinelinx’s Jordan Maison, Republic Commando composer Jeff Harlin had teased that he’s taking the game’s Vode An and reworking it for a ‘Star Wars project’. We don’t have any details about what that project is, but fans are already going crazy thinking about what it could be.

For context, here’s Vode An from the game, which I always thought was some kind of attempt at a Halo theme for Star Wars. It’s like the Duel of the Fates of Star Wars games:

Like I said, Republic Commando isn’t canon anymore, but some elements of the game have not been forgotten. For one, you can play as a Republic Commando in DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront II. What are the odds that EA is planning on remaking the game for the current generation? If Harlin says he worked on it recently, I’m guessing it would have something to do with The Mandalorian. The last episode actually had an Easter Egg connected to Knights of the Old Republic. What if they’re planning to reuse Vode An for an upcoming clone sequence? It would be kick-ass if they turned it into Captain Rex’s theme.

For now, all we can really do is guess. Hopefully Lucasfilm makes an announcement soon because we can always use some updates on Star Wars content.
