Both Sony and Marvel have been hard at work on their Spider-Man reboot, which has a massive cast attached. So far we’ve been given little information on who each actor is playing, outside the main stars. However, a call sheet leak on Reddit could change all that, as it has revealed some interesting supporting characters.
The main talking point from the leak is that Bokeem Woodbine is playing Herman Schultz/The Shocker. The Fargo actor is the third villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with The Vulture and Tinkerer also playing a part. We’ve seen bad things happen when Spidey takes on three bad guys in one film, but hopefully Marvel won’t make the same mistakes here.
Given how Shocker and Tinkerer don’t seem like huge burdens to Peter Parker, expect them to take smaller roles. They surely can’t allow those two to overshadow Michael Keaton’s turn as The Vulture.
The Nice Guys breakout star Angourie Rice is said to be playing Betty Brandt. That’s a younger version of the character than Sam Raimi’s trilogy, when she was portrayed by Elizabeth Banks.
One interesting casting is Kenneth Choi. We were quite confused when the Captain America: The First Avenger star was cast in this film. We thought he had been handed a second chance in a new role. It turns out that’s not entirely true, as the call sheet leak says he’s playing Principal Morita. Choi’s Howling Commando character was named Jim Morita, so it seems like this is his grandson.
Orange is the New Black star Selenis Layva has been revealed as a teacher. So too have comedian Hannibal Buress and Silicon Valley actor Martin Starr. It seems like Kevin Feige is staying true to his promise that this would be a high school adventure for Peter Parker.
There are plenty more revealed roles, which you can check out below. This sadly doesn’t give us confirmation on that Zendaya rumour that has been doing the rounds.
Spider-Man Homecoming hits theatres on July 7, 2017.
