Spaceballs 2: Lewis Pullman to be the Movie’s Kylo Ren?

Star Wars has been back for a while, and though Spaceballs isn’t considered to be part of the franchise, a lot of SW fans consider it to be an unofficial entry in the universe.

With the recent announcement of Spaceballs 2, it has also been reported that Lewis Pullman—son of Lone Starr actor Bill Pullman—is going to be part of the movie. It’s been confirmed that Lewis is going to be playing the part of Starburst, the son of Lone Starr and Queen Vespa (Daphne Zuniga), and he’s going to be playing the lead alongside Keke Palmer, who is playing a character named Desitiny, and Josh Gad—who could be the next generation of Barf, Lone Starr’s best friend and co-pilot a.k.a. Spaceballs’ take on Chewbacca.

Anyone whose followed the Sequel Trilogy knows that Han Solo’s son eventually falls to the Dark Side, and fans are suspecting that could also be happening with Starburst. With Kylo Ren being one of the most popular elements of the Sequel Trilogy, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the new Spaceballs found a way to make fun of him, especially since everyone was already calling him a whiny emo boy back when The Force Awakens came out.

Let’s also not forget about Matt the Radar Technician:

For now, there’s definitely a lot of ridiculous things that have happened to Star Wars that Spaceballs has a lot to make fun of. Even Rick and Morty has managed to make jabs at how the franchise has been going what with the toxic fandom and the quality of the Disney+ shows.

Hopefully we get a new generation of Spaceballs lovers from the sequel; maybe it will even get more SW fans to check out the original.

For now, Spaceballs 2 is aiming for a theatrical release sometime in 2027.
