Coming to PS4, PC, and Xbox One this year, Sniper Elite 4 continues the series’ World War II storyline by dropping players in 1943 Italy.
As Covert agent Karl Fairburne, an Office of Strategic Services elite marksman, players will fight alongside Allied forces and the Italian Resistance in an effort to free Italy from its fascists rulers. Fairburne’s mission will be to aid in defeating “a terrifying new threat with the potential to hold the Allied fightback in Europe before it’s even begun.”
Marking Rebellion’s first time developing the series from the ground-up on next-gen hardware, Sniper Elite 4 will take advantage of PS4 and Xbox One’s native ability to run in 1080p. Additionally, the game’s campaign will be co-op enabled and multiplayer modes are making a return.
With maps “many times the size of those seen in Sniper Elite 3,” the game will transport players across the Italian peninsula, from Mediterranean coastal cities to the forests and “mountain monasteries inspired by Monte Cassino.”
No official release date has been given for the next title in the stealth-action sniper series, but you can check out the teaser trailer below:
