Shazam! director David F. Sandberg has said that an official reveal of Captain Marvel’s suit was ‘just around the corner,’ but images from the set have been leaking, and now we have our best look at the costume yet.

Sanberg has said that the suit closely resembles Marvel’s look in the animated Justice Leage: War, and he’s right; down to the hooded cape and triangular shield. Probably the only difference is that the movie version has a layered cape.
Looking at the yellow parts on the gauntlet as well as the shield, I have a feeling that Captain Marvel’s final look will have some CGI to help it come to life. Unlike other heroes we’ve met in the DCEU, Marvel’s powers seem to come purely from magic. Probably the only official magic user we’ve met is Enchantress from Suicide Squad.
With Marvel Studios constantly modernizing the look of their heroes, I like how the DCEU actually embraces the classic superhero look. What’s cool is that, I don’t think Captain Marvel here looks silly at all; must be Levi’s impressive physical transformation. He can definitely look like he can go toe-to-toe with Superman.
Shazam! comes out April 25.
