With the film coming out early next year, it’s only right that WB should steadily build up the marketing for Shazam!. A new official poster has been shared by Zachary Levi, and as it turns out, we won’t be getting the new preview this week.

Rumors have been coming out that the new trailer for Shazam! would release this week, and it was kind of believable counting that Marvel will be coming out with a total of three trailers—Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, and Spider-Man: Far from Home. Add to that we’re also getting a new preview for Godzilla: King of Monsters.

Though I am kind of bummed we have to wait a bit longer for a new look at Shazam!, I guess the trailer would just end up being drowned out by all the hype on the MCU. A New Year’s release would definitely give fans some breathing room to feel the hype for the film.

For now, the DCEU is aiming to get back on its feet with the release of Aquaman, and based on the early reviews, the movie is going to be amazing. Let’s just hope the audiences agree with the critics this time around.

Billy Batson is a streetwise 14-year-old who can magically transform into the adult superhero Shazam simply by shouting out one word. His newfound powers soon get put to the test when he squares off against the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5, 2019.
