Second Season of The Mandalorian will Feature More Familiar Star Wars Characters

The Mandalorian was a huge success for Disney+, and we’re set to get the second season in the fall of 2020. Though we got to see some familiar races and locations in the first season, it’s said that we could be getting some familiar characters this time around.

According to Deadline, “Insiders have hinted that several established characters from the Skywalker saga’s feature films mythology will make appearances during the show’s sophomore season.”

We don’t know which characters we could meet along the way, but I think it would be interesting if we got to meet the infamous IG-88 and find out that he’s voiced by Taika Waititi as well. I’m sure everyone is also waiting for Boba Fett to make an appearance; maybe he can be some kind of series antagonist, seeing as our main Mando is the polar opposite of Fett who is mostly selfish.

Besides Fett, we also have other side characters that could appear. Maybe Donald Glover would like to come back as Lando Calrissian? How about Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo?

If anything, Moff Gideon is going to be the main big bad of Season 2, and everyone is already curious about how he got his hands on the darksaber. The last time we see it in canon was when it was in the hands of Rebels Sabine Wren; maybe we can find out her backstory—and possibly meet her—when Mandalorian 2 rolls out.

This is also just my personal preference, but I would like to see the return of Bill Burr’s Mayfeld one way or another. I don’t even need his whole crew to come back, just him being mad at the Mando for getting him in trouble.

You can catch The Mandalorian on Disney+ now. The second season is set to come out in the fall of 2020.
