We’ve been waiting too long for the Incredibles 2. The original Incredibles film was a huge success, smashing the box office. It left us wanting to see more of the superhero family and their antics. However, now, over on his Instagram account, Samuel L. Jackson, who plays the Incredibles’ friend, Frozone, has given us the news that we’ve wanted to hear: a picture of his first day of recording vocals for the character in the studio.
According to the folks over on SuperHeroHype, original Incredibles director Brad Bird is returning to make the sequel. In an interview with the site, Bird tells them a little bit about the plot without giving too much away:
“I had a bunch of ideas that I wanted to put in ‘The Incredibles,’” he previously told us, “but they just didn’t fit. Certain ideas fit, but other things make you go, ‘This is great, but I’d have to give up two other things that matter more to me to get this other thing in.’ So there were a pile of ideas left over from ‘The Incredibles,’ but it’s not a big thing.”
“There were little scenes and things that I was interested in. I wanted to come up with sort of an over-arching idea that connected to the first film that went somewhere different. That’s the one that took a little more time.””
Craig T. Nelson voiced Mr Incredible in the original, with Holly Hunter as his wife, Elastigirl. Jason Lee played villain, Syndrome, with Sarah Vowell as Invisigirl and Spencer Fox as Dash.
Although it’s still over a year away, we do have a date for the new Incredibles 2 film. The highly-anticipated Disney/Pixar production will be hitting cinemas in June 2018. By then, the suspense will be killing us.
