Ever since the Disney/Fox merger, fans have been nervous about the future of Ryan Reynolds Deadpool, seeing as the Merc with the Mouth could have a problem existing inside the family-friendly Disney brand. We don’t have any update on a Deadpool 3 film, but Wade Wilson himself Ryan Reynolds has posted a little teaser in his IG stories.
Check out Reynold’s post down here:
As of now, fans are wondering what Reynolds could mean by sharing the image. Is he going to be shooting a cameo for Spider-Man: No Way Home or Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Is he just walking around with it just in case he happens to interact with some Deadpool fans? We don’t know what Reynolds is up to, but he certainly knows how to build hype.
As far as we can tell, Reynolds’ version of Deadpool will be coming back for the MCU, but the question is when. Marvel has already announced their very packed slates for 2022-2023, and no Deadpool 3 has been announced. I guess the only consolation that fans have is that Deadpool is as fun a side character as he is a main one, and it would be very fun to have him pop-up and cameo in other movies. Heck, Reynolds doesn’t even need to put on the suit; they can just have someone else wear it, with Reynolds providing voice over in post—just like what Disney does with Pedro Pascal in The Mandalorian.
For now, the next MCU property to come out will be Loki, and it hits Disney+ on June 9. You can catch Reynolds in Free Guy which hits theaters on Aug. 13.
