While Lucasfilm is currently gearing up for the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, a lot of fans have been clamoring for the announcement of an Obi-Wan-centric anthology film. Rumor has it that Kenobi is definitely going to be the next spinoff, and it’s said to start production soon.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, George Lucas himself has been scouting Belfast, Ireland to see the locations where they’ll shoot the Kenobi movie; as a way to show his approval of the project. It’s also said that production will begin sometime in 2019, shortly after Game of Thrones 8 wraps.

Of course, this news should just be considered a rumor. Seeing that a lot of people believe that this movie will take place between Episode III and IV, I think they would be scouting at a place that would have more sand. Then again, I won’t be surprised if we’re going to get some flashbacks of the young Obi-Wan way before Episode I came out. If Solo could span multiple years in Han Solo’s life, then why can’t Kenobi?

No release date or announcement has been made for Kenobi: A Star Wars Story, but seeing that it’s one of the most wanted movies from the fanbase, it’s only a matter of time before Lucasfilm gives the project a green light.
