After suffering a near-fatal heart attack last year, Kevin Smith is now back on his feet and working on his next film, the Jay and Silent Bob reboot. While Smith himself has confirmed numerous celebrity appearances, this latest one brings back Clerks II star Rosario Dawson.
Check out Smith’s post:
We don’t know who Dawson is playing the movie yet, but Smith seems to have confirmed that she won’t be reprising her role of Becky from Clerks II. It looks like she’ll be playing someone completely new, and hopefully someone memorable as well.
Personally, I would have loved to see what’s happened to Becky ever since the Clerks sequel. Dawson was absolutely memorable in the role, and maybe we could have gotten an update on middle-aged Dante and Randall as well.
Besides Dawson, the movie has already confirmed appearances from celebs like Jason Lee, James Van Der Beek, Kate Miccuci, Molly Shannon, Shannon Elizabeth, and Jason Biggs—and that’s not even all of them yet.
With this movie being the one thing that Smith said was on his mind when he almost died, I’m actually excited to see what’s in store for the film. I’ve always considered Smith to be just as great as writing dialogue as Quentin Tarantino, and though his films never get Oscar nominations or accolades, they’re always fun to watch.
No release date has been announced for the Jay and Silent Bob reboot.
