A lot of people were worried that Rick and Morty won’t be able to go one without co-creator Justin Roiland, but the last season was pretty much what everyone loved about the series, and the team is coming back this May with Season 8.
Just in, we have a new trailer showcasing all the kinds of crazy hijinks we should expect from one of the most high-concept sci-fi shows out there. Check this out:
At this point, the overarching story of Rick finding Rick Prime seems to be over, but ‘Evil Morty’ is still out there and has a lot of potential to come back and cause chaos.
I’ll admit, not every episode has been a hit so far, but I still admire whenever the series goes for big swings and always has the most interesting twists to classic sci-fi formulas like Rick and Jerry mixing their brains together or the Smith Family going through a whole conundrum of the ethics of morally sourced spaghetti.
Just like The Simpsons, it does look like Rick and Morty is planning to go on for as long as it can; and the series is still knocking things out of the park from time to time. I guess the issue just comes with consistency. Hopefully Dan Harmon and his team will find a way to get the series coming out regularly every year.
Watch out for Rick and Morty Season 8 when it premieres on Adult Swim on May 25.
