UPDATE: There’s even more proof to the existence of the collection. The European Ratings Board, PEGI, has listed the anthology under the name Batman Return to Arkham – Arkham Asylum and given it a “16” rating. Once more, the date April 19 shows up, but again, it’s presumed to be the date pre-orders begin. If this is the case, WB does not have much time to officially announce the collection.
An image sent to Eurogamer via a GameStop employee indicates that the first two games in Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham Trilogy will release on June 10 for PS4 and Xbox One. According to the details in the image, pictured below, pre-orders for the collection will go live on April 19.
The collection will feature both Batman: Arkham Asylum and City. In addition, both titles’ respective downloadable content will be included. However, what won’t feature in the anthology is the prequel Batman: Arkham Origins, which was developed by newcomer WB Games Montreal. Understandably, since it’s already out on new-gen consoles, Batman Arkham Knight will also be missing from the anthology.
Eurogamer says they have reached out to Warner Bros. for confirmation, but have yet to hear a response from the publisher. If this is true, it isn’t surprising news. WB typically likes having major titles out each year. While LEGO Marvel Avengers launched earlier this year and LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to release this summer, neither carries quite the commercial weight as a tentpole Batman title.
