Rami Malek is Freddie Mercury in First Teaser for Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody may have had a little trouble last year with ex-director Bryan Singer. However, it looks like the movie is on track and is aiming for a release this coming November. Fox just released the first teaser for the Queen biopic. Look at how amazing looks as Rami Malek as legendary frontman, Freddie Mercury.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. They reach unparalleled success, but in an unexpected turn Freddie, surrounded by darker influences, shuns Queen in pursuit of his solo career.

Having suffered greatly without the collaboration of Queen, Freddie manages to reunite with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. Facing a life-threatening illness, Freddie leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Queen cements a legacy that continues to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day.

Like I said, the movie originally had X-Men director Bryan Singer at the helm. However, reports came out that the director was being unprofessional on set. Singer was later on booted by 20th Century Fox.  The studio eventually replaced Singer with Eddie the Eagle director Dexter Fletcher.

What’s interesting is, Fletcher is also set to direct a biopic on Elton John’s life called Rocketman.

Malek looks absolutely amazing as Mercury. His movement in the trailer is spectacularly on point. He also looks a lot like Mercury in the video. It’s hard to tell that the actor’s from Mr. Robot. So far, things are looking good for Bohemian Rhapsody. Hopefully the film ends up being faithful enough to the story of Queen. We’d like a movie that Mercury could be proud of if he was alive today.

Bohemian Rhapsody hits theaters Nov. 2.
