With its metallic, Iron Man-esque suits and Elizabeth Banks as a very different Rita Repulsa, 2017’s Power Rangers movie reboot is clearly taken lots of liberties with the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV show. Well, at least we now know that one iconic element of the series will be present and correct in the movie.
The following five new posters show each Ranger with their respective Zord. In case you’re not familiar with the franchise, the Zords are the massive dinosaur-themed robots/vehicles used be the Rangers to fight their biggest enemies. What made them the coolest toy of the 90s was that they could all fit together to form one giant Megazord. Presumably, we can look forward to that happening in the reboot’s third act.
See them below:
The photos show Dacre Montgomery (Jason the Red Ranger) with his Tyrannosaurus Zord, Naomi Scott (Kimberly the Pink Ranger) with the Pterodactyl Zord, Ludi Lun (Zack the Black Ranger) with his Mastadon Zord, Becky G (Trini the Yellow Ranger) with the Sabre-Toothed Tiger Zord and R.J. Cyler (Billy the Blue Ranger) with his Triceratops Zord. Will these versions of the Zords create just as big of a toy craze as the Mighty Morphin ones did? Only time will tell…
