It’s likely that you’ve seen a Pixar film, no matter how old you are. The studio has a reputation for producing high-quality films. Not only is this down to good writing, but it’s also down to strong characters. From Woody to Dory, The Incredibles and more – it’s easy to see why we’ve fallen in love with the animated classics.
We’ve all probably stopped and wondered what would happen if the Pixar world was real. However, Tom Hanks and Ellen DeGeneres have actually gone one step further and played their on-screen characters live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. You can see the video below.
Taken from EW:
“While talking with DeGeneres about their Pixar adventures, Hanks asked the audience to close their eyes and ‘imagine you’re in Pixar land.’ The pair then channeled their respective characters to see what the animated toy cowboy would think of the amnesiac fish.”
Both Tom Hanks’s Woody and DeGeneres’s Dory have become huge since their debuts. Audiences fell in love with Woody when he first appeared in Toy Story. “Just Keep Swimming” which Dory sang in both Finding Nemo and Finding Dory is popular worldwide. The Pixar challenge, with Hanks and DeGeneres facing-off their characters in a long overdue meeting, is movie gold.
As stated over on EW:
“The bit came about when Hanks started asking Ellen if fans ever confuse her with Dory. ‘Do you make them close their eyes and then speak to them like Dory?’ he asked. He never got an answer, but later added, ‘Kids go nuts.'”
Toy Story has scored huge success for Pixar. The franchise is far from over though, as Toy Story 4 gears up for release in 2018.
