Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits home video this month, and with it comes the promise of over 2 hours of extra content. Thanks to the Star Wars Show, we actually get a look at a deleted scene that extends the fight between Captain Phasma and Finn.

The scene plays out at 1:37:

Instead of Phasma meeting her end alone like in the film, she actually has a bunch of troopers help her surround Finn. This then leads to Finn accusing Phasma of being a coward for putting down the shields at Starkiller Base; and as the troopers begin to question Phasma’s leadership, she takes care of all of them with a blaster. Then Finn cuts off her hand, then shoots her off the platform.

Phasma’s attitude in the scene is actually aligned with her character in the Phasma novel in which it’s established that Phasma is a brute warrior, but she mostly looks out only for herself. It’s even great that Finn addresses why she was so quick to put down the shields in the last movie.

The scene was probably cut due to pacing issues, but I would have loved to see it play out onscreen. With director Rian Johnson playing coy about Phasma’s survival in the movie, I hope J.J. Abrams brings her back to finish her arc with justice that the character deserves.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits digital on March 13 and Blu-Ray on March 27.
