It’s been five years since the duo of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost took the spotlight at The World’s End, and it looks like the two are reuniting for a return to the small screen. Just in, they’ve announced that they’re teaming up with Amazon for a show called Truth Seekers.

According to Variety, Truth Seekers is a show about ghost hunters and has been described as a horror comedy. The site describes the show:

Frost plays Gus, one half of a ghost-hunting, duo who team up to uncover and film paranormal sightings across the U.K. in the series. They stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals using an array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos and share their adventures on an online channel. Their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, terrifying, and even deadly as the pair begin to uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the entire human race.

Pegg will also star as Dave, a character about whom little is yet known. Further casting will be announced soon.

Seeing that Frost and Pegg have fought everything from zombies to aliens, it would be interesting to see them go after ghosts this time around. The premise sounds very close to Ghostbusters, but I’m sure the duo have an idea of how they can twist the genre and make it their own.

Pegg also had this to say about the show:

“Nick and I are delighted that ‘Truth Seekers’ has found a home with Amazon Prime Video. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and creating something very special. These are truly exciting times for television, and I can’t think of a better partner than Amazon to accompany us on a return to the smaller screen.”

As of now, no release date has been set for Amazon’s Truth Seekers, but with a productions set for September, we could be looking at a release sometime next year.
