If you’re up to date with The Flash, then you likely have no idea what to expect in Season 3. After an incredible end to the second season, who knows what is coming next? We’re expecting plenty of reveals at Comic-Con next weekend, but that might be a little late. Some recent set photos may have given us our first look at the next big bad. Beware of spoilers for Season 2 below.
Yesterday we got a glimpse of the Kid Flash costume, which was pretty good timing. Just a day later and we’re already seeing grainy images of it online. Comic Book Cast, Comicbookmovie and Whatsfilming have each gotten their hands on some set photos. Wally West looks to be in full on hero mode during filming, which we’re assuming is for episode one of Season 3. Most interestingly, we also see another speedster on set who looks a lot like the Black Racer.
The Black Racer first appeared in New Gods back in 1971. While the comic character has the power to kill people with a singe touch, you imagine that won’t be an attribute used in the show. At the end of Season 2, Zoom was carried off by the speed wraiths, but he looked set to become Black Flash rather than Black Racer. As a comparison, check out Black Racer’s comic appearance below.
Could we be seeing the new villain for the season here? While it is very early, we did get the first appearance of Hunter Zoloman in episode one last year. Of course, he was known as Jay Garrick at the time. The costume does look a little too detailed for a one episode threat. Could this be the character Tom Felton signed on to play? Many expect him to be a villain, but that’s not been confirmed yet.
Does Barry Allen still have his powers? Given that the opening episode is titled Flashpoint, we expected him to be powerless. He does seem to be speeding onto the scene in one image. Expect to know much more after the show’s Comic-Con panel next weekend.
