The Last of Us may be a game series, but it’s definitely cinematic; and that’s why it was so naturally adapted for the smalls screen by Craig Mazin. The second season is finally set to premiere in April, and a new trailer has dropped confirming several more setpieces getting adapted.

While the series does confirm that the season is going to follow Ellie as she rampages through Seattle, the trailer also confirms a flashback moment shortly after the events of the first season where Joel and Ellie visit an aerospace museum—a treat for Ellie since she’s so interested in space.
There’s also a look at Joe Pantoliano in character as Eugene. Though Eugene was only mentioned in the second game and dead by the time the story starts; it’s said that they would be expanding his story for the series—not unlike what they did with Bill and Frank in Season 1.
Speaking of expansions, it does look like there’s going to be some added action scenes for the second season. We know that Joel ends up fighting a horde with Abby when the two meet, but the trailer showcases a whole siege on Jackson by a horde of infected. This wasn’t in the game, but it feels like the series expanding the world and showing audiences what measures they have in store just in case a whole bunch of infected come up their door.
Watch out for The Last of Us Season 2 when it premieres on April 13.
