New Trailer for Godzilla: King of Monsters Give Us Good Look at all the New Kaiju

While we didn’t get a trailer drop last Sunday, Legendary has decided to drop the second preview for Godzilla: King of Monsters today. We get a good look at all the new monsters coming to the film, plus we get a good sense of where we are in the story.

Like I said, the trailer gives us some interesting lore when it comes to the Kaiju. With Godzilla basically establishing that he’s a good guy in the first movie, the film will be having us guess which “Titans” are on the side of the humans, and which ones are on the side of nature. Everyone guesses that Mothra will actually be queen to Godzilla’s king, and both will have to team-up against the likes of Rodan and King Ghidorah.

Interestingly enough, I also think the trailer has given us a look at some previously unannounced Kaiju. We have something emerging from the ground with some massive claws, and I think this will be some kind of monster teased in the end or maybe in the beginning.

Personally out of all the monsters in the Kaiju genre, I would love to see the giant turtle Gamera be brought to the big screen in this form. Maybe if we wait long enough, we can watch Godzilla battle a giant Ultraman.

Following the global success of “Godzilla” and “Kong: Skull Island” comes the next chapter in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ cinematic MonsterVerse, an epic action-adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of Monsters hits theaters May 31, 2019.
