With Harry Potter long since finished, we’ve been eager to see more of J.K Rowling’s famous wizarding world. This November 18th, however, the latest franchise in this universe, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, will bring us what we’ve been craving all of this time. Warner Bros., the studio who brought us Harry Potter, have given us not one, but two teasers to get us excited.
Over on The Ellen Show, Warner Bros. dropped a new full-length trailer for the up-and-coming wizarding film, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander. As Collider reports:
“While previous trailers have played up the cute wonders of the film, visual effects are nearing completion so this full trailer really digs into the magic of it all, unveiling a world that is both colorful and dangerous.”
This full-length trailer definitely delves into the darker side of the film. Yet, considering that it is led by adults as opposed to the Hogwarts crew, the darker tone is appropriate. Plus, David Yates is directing Fantastic Beasts and, after helming the latter four Harry Potter films, he is known for taking J.K. Rowling’s stories into darker areas.
Fantastic Beasts also offers us fans a look at the wider Harry Potter world. Instead of Hogwarts, the film follows Newt as he explores the US, along with his suitcase of monsters.
As well as the first full-length trailer, Warner Bros have also given us a new poster:
With just over a month and a half to wait until the new Fantastic Beasts film, both the trailer and the new poster offer us a tantalising glimpse. As well as Eddie Redmayne, the film stars Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo and Jon Voight. Fantastic Beasts blasts into cinemas on November 18th.
