It might not be as big as the Wolverine reveal from the last X-Men: Apocalypse trailer, but the latest TV spot for the highly-anticipated upcoming movie also features something that should get fans excited. Have a look for yourself in the video below:
Yes, amongst some familiar footage seen in earlier trailers, the spot gives us our first look at Cyclops’ updated costume. In place of the red sunglasses of the previous trailers, he now sports a proper sci-fi visor. Likewise, the blue body armour is a far cry from the boring black leather of the original X-Men trilogy.
Hopefully, this is a hint that Tye Sheridan’s new take on the character will live up to the popular superhero from the comics, rather than James Marsden’s wet blanket. Certainly, he now looks closer to the version of the character seen in the successful X-Men: The Animated Series from the 1990s.
The spot also includes this awesome shot of the new X-Men team, featuring Kodi Smit-McPhee’s Nightcrawler, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Nicholas Hoult’s Beast, Sheridan’s Cyclops, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, James MacAvoy as Professor X, Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey, and last but not least, Even Peters as Quicksilver.
X-Men: Apocalypse evolves into cinemas on May 18 in the UK, May 27 in the US.
