The end credits scene at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse was incredibly vague, even for fans of comics. Many of you would have recognised the hints towards Mister Sinister, but we had no idea when he would appear. The villain could have been an antagonist to Wolverine, the X-Men or Gambit. That left us wondering how long it would be before Nathaniel Essex fully appeared in this universe.
Thanks to Bryan Singer and CinemaBlend, we now know when to expect Sinister’s appearance. He’s going to play a part in the next film in the X-Men franchise, Wolverine 3. Yes, finally we have some actual details about the March release. So far the studio have cloaked Hugh Jackman’s last appearance in a veil of secrecy. Now, we know the villain everything seems a lot clearer.
It’s probably fair to guess that Mister Sinister is the role which Richard E. Grant is playing. His character is described as a, “mad scientist”. The mad scientist is likely to be how this film portrays the villain. Plus, doesn’t his face just scream sinister?
Singer went on to mention their that the original plan for a Deadpool related post credit scene. While it seems like a desperate attempt at universe building, the director said they wanted to include a tease toward Deadpool 2:
We did a tag that we really couldn’t do — which I can stick on the DVD. It would have been for Deadpool, and unfortunately it wouldn’t have had the right costume for the character they’re going to add to Deadpool . I don’t want to give that away.
Is there any chance that character wasn’t Cable? We expect that scene to appear, probably after the credits on Jackman’s final turn as Logan. We won’t have that long to wait to see it, as Wolverine 3 hits theatres on March 3, 2017.
