Thuy Trang (Yellow Ranger, Trini Kwan)
It was to Mighty Morphin’s credit that it didn’t just have one “token” woman on the team. As well as the girly Pink Ranger there was the tomboyish Trini. She didn’t even wear a skirt in her Yellow Ranger costume (though that was actually because the role was played by a man in the original Japanese Super Sentai series). Actress Thuy Trang was only on the show from 1993 to 1994, but she still appeared in a whopping 80 episodes.
Afterwards, Trang appeared in a couple of supporting roles in movies like spoof Spy Hard and superhero sequel The Crow: City of Angels. Sadly, tragedy struck in 2001 when Trang was killed in car accident. She was 27 years old.
All of the original Power Rangers attended her funeral, and an episode of the then-running series, Power Rangers: Time Force, was dedicated to her. RIP Thuy.
