Meet Chris Pratt’s Ex-Soldier in New Clip from The Electric State

The Russo Brothers may be back for the next Avengers movie, but they’ve teamed up with Netflix for an interesting retro sci-fi film called The Electric State.

The movie is set to release in March, and thanks to Netflix, we have a short sneak peek featuring Chris Pratt, Millie Bobby Brown, and a giant robot voiced by Anthony Mackie. Check this out:

While there are retro-futuristic properties that like to imagine a different kind of future, The Electric State is different in that it imagines a robot apocalypse that takes place around the 90s. Oddly enough, all the robots look like they were designed in the 20s with their Steamboat Willy-esque designs.

It’s also worth noting that the Russos have managed to amass quite the number of stars for the movie. Besides Pratt and Brown, the movie also includes he talents of Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Stanley Tucci, and Giancarlo Esposito. Joining the film in voice roles are also Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Jank Azaria, Colman Domingo, and Alan Tudyk.

Admittedly, the Russos haven’t managed to find a hit film after Avengers: Endgame, but I’m hoping they find some kind of success before things start cooking over at Marvel Studios for Avengers: Doomsday.

Set in a retro-futuristic past, this blockbuster adventure from filmmakers Anthony and Joe Russo follows Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), an orphaned teenager who traverses the American West in search of her younger brother. Joining her on the journey is a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter (Chris Pratt).

Watch out for The Electric State when it comes out March 14.
