Matt Reeves’ The Batman Reportedly Feature a Younger Bruce Wayne

Ever since Matt Reeves took over The Batman, we haven’t been getting any solid updates on the movie. So far we’ve just gotten vague updates on the script, and a will-he-or-won’t-he star vibe from Ben Affleck. Now according to DC Films head Walter Hamada, the Batman movie will star a younger Bruce Wayne.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves had turned in his script by the end of May, and he is said to be exploring the story of a younger Batman, most likely not played by Ben Affleck. While this could come as a disappointment for some fans—especially after Affleck has been more open to playing the role again—I guess it would make sense that we get a bit more backstory on the old and grizzled Batfleck.

Maybe we can even find out what happened to one of his Robins. Remember the one whose costume ended up in the Batcave back in Batman v Superman?

The DCEU was said to be in a heap of trouble when Hamada came onboard. Now, he looks  like he has a plan for the trajectory of the franchise. Even with all these questionable movies going in the works, I hope that Hamada genuinely knows what he’s doing.

No release date has been set for The Batman.
