Mark Hamill might be infamously known on social media for all the different pranks he pulls on the desperate Star Wars fanbase, but the Star Wars legend also shares a lot of different Star Wars tidbits online and today he sent a lot of love on Twitter.

Twitter user SWDarkSide YTB shared a behind the scene clip of Luke’s final good bye to Leia (the late Carrie Fisher) on the social media site, and Hamill decided to retweet the post, talking about that moment shared between the Skywalker twins.

Not only did Hamill admit that it was an emotionally charged scene, but he also revealed that the kiss that Luke left his sister was unscripted and spontaneous.

“An emotionally charged day on set filming this because, knowing he was about to sacrifice his life for the greater good, Luke was saying goodbye… forever. The kiss was unscripted & spontaneous in the moment, summarizing his/my feelings in a way words could never have conveyed,” Hamill wrote on his post.

It’s definitely a tender and heart warming revelation. Sure, it’s been a while since Fisher passed away back in 2016, but Hamill, Fisher’s family, and her fans, continue to remember her by through posts like this.

Fans responded to the post with warmth and love, all moved by the tender moment shared between Hamill and Fisher.

Now, as Star Wars: Episode IX approaches its release, we can’t help but wonder what J.J. Abrams has planned for Leia. Will General Organa get the send off she deserves? We definitely hope so.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
