Anyone who is updated in their Marvel comic lore knows that Magneto had children, and while Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver have been in the spotlight since Age of Ultron, there is one other offspring of Erik Magnus that may actually appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
According to @AlexFromCC (via @cosmic_marvel) Polaris is going to be appearing Doomsday, and she’s going to be played by Neve Campbell (Scream franchise). No details have been revealed about the size of her role, but it’s possible that she could be the daughter of Ian McKellen’s Magneto—who has been confirmed for the movie already.
In the comics, Polaris is the only child of Magneto to actually have his magnetic powers. She has been a member of the X-Men and X-Factor, and she has a kind of on-and-off relationship with Alex Summers a.k.a. Havok.
Polaris has had appearances in animated X-Men media, but she had a live-action appearance in The Gifted where she was played by Emma Dumont. We don’t know how Polaris will be tackled in Doomsday, but it’s possible that she could be one of the more seasoned X-Men, counting Campbell’s age and relationship with an existing character.
Though there are a lot of legacy characters in Doomsday like Nightcrawler and Mystique, I am hopeful that we could see some other characters be able to shine. I have always been against the nostalgia-baiting angle that Marvel has been going through recently, but if they’re going all-in with these Avengers movies, they may as well go crazy.
Avengers: Doomsday is expected to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
