Deadline is reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio will be starring in another Tarantino film, the last one, of course, being the Oscar buzzworthy Django Unchained. The new film has already been scooped up by Sony and has an August 9th, 2019 release date and has David Heyman (Harry Potter) as well as Shannon McIntosh, and Georgia Kacandes signed on with Tarantino to Executive Produce.

The deal is not finalized, but according to the Deadline article DiCaprio will play an aging actor in the story that is being kept under wraps, with the only details beingĀ  it’s a “Pulp Fiction-esque movie set in the 1969 Los Angeles during the summer of the Manson murders.”

Many have speculated this means he will be playing Charles Manson since Margot Robbie has already been tapped to play Sharon Tate. Other rumors are also saying that Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt has been in talks with the project alone with DiCaprio for what is known as two other large male roles. We’re guessing one of those roles is Tex Watson one of the 4 people known for having carried out the infamous murders of Sharon Tate.

The release date itself is also said to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the murders which took place on August 9th, 1969. Production is set for later this year.

We have to admit with the recent death of Charle’s Manson and the buzz around his estate it’s not shocking they’re making a Manson film, but do you think it’s a good idea to make a movie on this? After all, others have criticised shows like American Crime Story for not portraying the events of the crimes accurately. Or do you think it’s all for the sake of entertainment and accuracy won’t matter? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
