Back in 2014 we got The LEGO Movie. No one knew at the time that it was going to be a huge success. Yet, when it came to the film’s premiere, it was a huge hit. The film had an ensemble of characters from across pop culture. One character who stood out from most was LEGO’s very own version of Batman. The movie created a perfect version of the Dark Knight in LEGO Batman, voiced by Arrested Development‘s Will Arnett.
After such a successful role in the film, the LEGO Batman is embarking on his first solo adventure next year. To celebrate this, Warner Bros. Pictures has launched a brand-spanking new IMAX poster. See Batman, Robin and Catwoman in all their LEGO glory below:
As Nerdist points out, not only do we have a brilliant version of Batman to look forward to, we’ll also be able to see a LEGO-version of Gotham in all of its IMAX wonder.
After so much excitement, Batman v Superman left us wanting more. Now it looks like The Lego Batman Movie will offer up a different kind of Batman adventure. Michael Cera will also be starring in the movie, reuniting him with fellow Arrested Development star, Arnett. We can expect some fantastic play-offs between the pair, with Cera voicing the goofy LEGO version of Robin in the film.
The LEGO Batman Movie will be bringing many of Batman’s friends and foes into the LEGO dimension. One of the best bits of news is that Zach Galifianakis will be voicing this Batman’s arch-nemesis, the Joker. Die-hard Batman fans will also be delighted to hear that Billy Dee Williams is playing Two-Face, again. Although Williams got to play Harvey Dent previously, he missed out on being Two-Face as well. It’s this kind of thing that makes LEGO Batman brilliant.
The LEGO Batman Movie will be hitting cinemas in February.
