Earlier this year, a supposedly leaked poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker made the rounds online, adding hype to the third entry in Lucasfilm’s sequel trilogy. Though the Episode IX image was chalked off to a fan-made edit, a new post reveals that the leaked image actually came from Lucasfilm.

Star Wars News Net was just recently able to get a sneak peek at a few of the tie-in merchandise for Star Wars: Episode IX, and according to the site, the leaked poster was found among the items set for retail.

There are a few alterations to the images though like the Rise of Skywalker title card replacing the general Star Wars logo and a picture of Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) replacing the new alien character Klaud standing next to Finn.

Check out the image down here:

It looks like this new poster (as well as the other tie-in merchandise for The Rise of Skywalker) is going be made available during Triple Force Friday on October 4. Triple Force Friday is an unofficial Star Wars retail holiday where Lucasfilm plans to release merchandise from Episode IX and from the upcoming Disney+ live action series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian. Respawn Entertainment’s highly anticipated Star Wars videogame, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is hitting shelves on the same day too, so Triple Force Friday’s definitely going to be a field day for the Star Wars fanbase.

We’re hoping that we get more details about The Rise of Skywalker by then too.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
