Ahead of their San Diego Comic-Con panel, Twentieth Century Fox gives us the second Kingsman: The Golden Circle trailer. Looks like the Kingsman are in trouble. Their headquarters have been destroyed. A new villain, Poppy (Julianne Moore), holds the world hostage. Gary “Eggsy” Unwin has been here before, though. Saving the world is sort of his specialty, after all. And this time, he’ll do it with even more flair as he teams up with his American counterparts to help save the day. Kingsman, meet Statesman.
The second trailer gives up a little information on the Statesman, the American counterpart to the Kingsman. They are cowboys, and by the way, it’s a “lasso,” not a skipping rope. There’s a lot of action packed into the two-minute trailer and most of it is quite explosive. We also see another quick glimpse of the presumed-dead Harry Hart (Colin Firth). IGN recently posted the Red Band Trailer, which offers up a slightly more violent version of the film.
“It’s very American.”
In Kingsman: The Golden Circle, our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle was written by Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn, and directed by Matthew Vaughn. The film stars Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, with Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges. It opens in the UK September 20, 2017 and in the US on September 22, 2017.
