K-Pop Demon Hunters came out last weekend, and it’s turned out to be a big hit for Netflix. While people are waiting for the announcement of the sequel, director Maggie Kang has revealed a detail about some characters that weren’t revealed in the film.
If you’ve watched the movie, you’ll know that Rumi is kind of stalked by a mythical tiger and crow, and Kang has revealed that their actual names are Derpy and Sussie. Here’s her post:
And might as well give you the other one. The magpie’s name is Sussie cuz it’s always giving sus eyes. Derpy and Sussie pic.twitter.com/RYEwaXYcMS

We don’t know why the movie decided to hold back on revealing their names, but my guess is that they wanted to come up with something more marketable but they ran out of time and just decided not to name them officially.
If anything, some people have been praising KPDH for their restraint on the animal sidekicks. Sure there are two of them, but they neither sing or talk; so they’re in the film, but they don’t really take up as much space as a Disney animal sidekick does.
For now, K-Pop Demon Hunters is blowing up online. Not only is the film getting a lot of attention, but the original songs from the Huntrix and Saja Boys are also topping the Spotify and iTunes charts. A lot of fans are hopeful that a sequel will be announced soon, but as of now, it looks like Netflix and the team are just resting on their laurels.
Besides, what would we even expect out of a sequel? A world tour? Different huntress groups from different countries? Actual celebrity cameos? We’ll just have to wait and see.
For now, catch Derpy and Sussie in K-Pop Demon Hunters now streaming on Netflix.
