Besides the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker this December, Sony is looking to dish out the follow-up to their surprise hit, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. We just got a new trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level, and it promises to shake up the formula from the last film.
Here’s the official description:
In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
While Karen Gillian is still playing the same character from the first film, her other three co-stars are going to be playing completely different people. After Bethany, Jack Black is now playing Kevin Hart’s role from the last movie, Fridge; plus, the Rock and Hart will be playing entirely new characters who are played by Danny DeVito and Danny Glover.
While I think the Rock’s acting in the last film was alright, I’m kind of worried to see how long he can play this new “Old man trapped in a video game” character. I do have to commend Kevin Hart though, since he does a fantastic Danny Glover; I wonder if it could be funny up until the end of the film.
For now, Jumanji: The Next Level is set to come out Dec. 13.
