Jimmy Smits’ Replacement as Bail Organa Revealed

Jimmy Smits’ Replacement as Bail Organa Revealed

Word has been going around that a legacy character is being replaced in Andor because of scheduling conflicts, and a lot of rumors are saying that it’s going to be Leia’s adoptive father Bail Organa who was played by Jimmy Smits in the Prequels and other spinoffs.

Now @clonehumor is saying that the new actor playing Bail would be Benjamin Bratt, who was recently in Poker Face and Doctor Strange. We don’t know how much of Bail is going to be in the season, but with them having to recast, it’s possible that he is going to be in a more important role—possibly one surrounding Mon Mothma who was a full-blown Rebel leader by the time of Rogue One.

We don’t know exactly why Smits was too busy to appear, but he had showed up for the Kenobi series before this; such a shame that he would miss out on playing the role for a series that’s well more critically acclaimed.

If anything, Bratt does seem like a great choice to take over the role. And honestly, despite the legacy status of Bail Organa, he barely gets to do anything interesting besides being a moral compass for lost characters. Maybe Andor 2 will actually have him back in the mess trying to get Mothma to safety. Fingers crossed we get to see Tiny Leia again.

As for Andor, the first season was fantastic, and based on the early reviews for Season 2, we should be strapping in for another season of peak Star Wars. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long before we get another show like Andor again.

Watch Andor Season 2 now streaming on Disney+.
