Marvel’s Jessica Jones has finally finished filming. A user (perhaps a crew member or friend) posted a picture to Instagram of a huge cake entitled ‘Marvel Jessica Jones Netflix– That’s A Wrap’ along with the caption “Congrats to the cast and crew of #JessicaJones on Season 2 wrap! What a wild ride! Love you all!!” Carrie Ann Moss who plays Lawyer, Jeri Hogarth then commented “Best time ever!”
Season 2 is rumoured to arrive in Mid-2018 due to the release of The Punisher late this year. Jessica saw herself in a team up in last month’s Marvel’s The Defenders, in which she took on the evils of The Hand alongside her fellow Defenders, Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox). Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg says that Jessica will reveal more of her backstory but “will continue to drink and make mistakes, but something has changed for her” and this is something we will be able to see come to life in Season 2.
It is unlikely that we will see Luke Cage in Season 2. Although, he and Jessica left each other on a positive note at the end of The Defenders. It is assumed that Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) will make an appearance and even Daredevil himself as he and Jessica seemed to have bonded quite well. Trish Walker (Rachael Taylor) and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Ann Moss) will definitely appear.
On an equally postive note, Rosenberg also confirmed that the whole of Season 2 will be directed by women. This showcases more incredible work by women in cinema and TV but also allows Jessica as a character to get a throrough realisation. Krysten Ritter described this season as both “serious and personal,” with David Tennant set to return as Kilgrave (possibly in real life but most likely in a flashback).
Marvel’s Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter as the titular character and Season 2 will be released in 2018.
