Is WB Working on the Cyborg Movie Again?

Ray Fisher was set to star in a Cyborg movie that was coming out in 2020, but after the terrible reception of Justice League, WB had to make some serious changes with their DCEU roster. For a long while we didn’t get an update on the Cyborg film, but The Wrap’s Umberto Gonzalez has posted something that could hint at the future of Cyborg:

A lot of interpretations have been coming from the post. Some think that this means that WB is finally bringing back life to the ‘dead’ Cyborg film, while some others think that WB is planning on doing a whole reboot for the movie. I like to be more positive and think that we’re going to be seeing more of Fisher onscreen in the future. Though Justice League was critically panned, I think each character was perfectly cast.

Unlike Ben Affleck who has been hot and cold about coming back as Batman for the DCEU, Fisher has been very vocal about staying on an Cyborg. The only problem was it looked like the movie wasn’t in any active development. Hopefully with Gonzalez’s tweet, we could be getting some kind of announcement from WB soon.

For now, the DCEU is gearing up for the release of Aquaman, with Shazam! and Joker coming out next year. 2020 will see the release of Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984, and there have been vague updates about the solo Flash and Batman films. Hopefully they could find a way to squeeze Cyborg somewhere in the schedule.

Personally, I’m crossing my fingers that they retool it into a Teen Titans film, but with the series out, I may just be barking up the wrong tree.

WB has not officially announced the Cyborg movie.
