Marvel debuted their second trailer for the hotly anticipated sequel, Thor: Ragnarok and it’s a doozy. The latest installment finds Thor fighting his way back to Asgard to stop Hela (Cate Blanchett) from bringing about Ragnarok, the destruction of Thor’s home world. While we aren’t quite sure how Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and others will fit into the fight, we can rest assured that it looks ridiculously entertaining.

Director Taika Waititi appears to have brought a delightful retro flavor to this third chapter of Thor, which seems to be borrowing  its tone from the crowd-pleasing Guardians of the Galaxy. That should help boost interest levels and deliver the fun-factor that limited the enjoyment of Thor: The Dark World for many. Also working in Ragnarok‘s favor is the fact that Thor hasn’t had a standalone film since The Dark World in 2013, and hasn’t been seen onscreen in a major role since 2015’s Avengers sequel (having not been a part of last year’s ensemble in Captain America: Civil War).

November will be a very busy month for theaters, thus putting Ragnarok in a bit of a tight spot when Justice League rolls out a mere two weeks later.  It will be very interesting to see if Thor and Hulk can share an audience with the DCEU lineup without cannibalizing each other during the early holiday season.

Marvel also debuted the latest poster for Thor: Ragnarok, and it delivers a lot of exciting color and imagery, again taking on a far more playful tone than the previous film. It practically begs to be hung up on the movie room wall. Check it out below:

In addition to Hemsworth, Ruffalo, and Blanchett, the film also features Jeff Goldblum, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.  The film opens November 3.
