Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza and More Star in Honey Don’t Trailer from Half of the Coen Brothers

Joel and Ethan Coen may be a director duo, but it does seem like Ethan is going solo for a while with his recent film Drive-Away Dolls and now the upcoming movie Honey Don’t.

The movie has a star-studded cast which includes Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, and Chris Evans; and you can check out the first trailer here:

Here’s the official description:

Honey Don’t! is a dark comedy about Honey O’Donahue, a small-town private investigator, who delves into a series of strange deaths tied to a mysterious church.

The premise definitely feels like a Coen Brothers movie, with all the kooky characters and artsy directing. It’s also fun to see Chris Evans playing villains again like he did in Knives Out. Now he’s going to be like some scheming pastor—oddly perfect for someone who was the earnest face of Captain America.

Admittedly, Coen’s Drive-Away Dolls wasn’t the best-reviewed film, but there were still some who thought that it was very much on-brand for a Coen Brothers movie. Besides, even cult classics like The Big Lebowski weren’t reviewed really well when it came out, and now that film is considered to be a cinematic monolith.

As for Qualley, she may not have gotten anything after The Substance, but her star is definitely rising, and maybe more people will be keen to check out Honey Don’t once it gets to theaters.

Catch Honey Don’t when it comes to cinemas on Aug. 22.
