Hawkeye Set Video Confirms Christmas Setting

COVID-19 may still be here, but some movie productions are getting back on their feet with extensive safety measures. One series that has started rolling cameras is Disney+’s Hawkeye, and we have a new set video of Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld confirming a… Christmas setting?

The series is shooting in New York, and while though it looks like a normal scene with Steinfeld and Renner crossing the street, you can see them walk past a guy dressed as Santa Clause. Check it out:

While this doesn’t really give us anything specific for the plot, it could be a hint at when the series could release. With Hawkeye originally set to come out in the fall of 2021, it would make sense that the show would release sometime around the Christmas season.

Like I said, we don’t know much about the official plot yet, but some speculate that Clint Barton will be looking for someone to replace him in the Avengers after the supposed loss of his hearing. Some set photos have found Renner to be wearing a hearing aid, and though it’s possible it could be for the production, it’s also likely that it could be a prop to tell Hawkeye’s story. In the comics, Hawkeye is actually deaf, and it hasn’t been addressed in the films at all. This way, it would be nice for the MCU to be more inclusive, giving us some handy capable heroes.

No release date has been set for Hawkeye, but the first MCU series, WandaVision, is set to debut on Jan. 15, 2021.
