Superman isn’t even out yet, but DC Studios is already chugging along with their slate of movies. Just in, studio co-head James Gunn has confirmed the start of production of the Supergirl movie starring Milly Alcock.
Check this out:
Thrilled to see cameras roll at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden on Supergirl, with Craig Gillespie at the helm and the phenomenal Milly Alcock as our Kara Zor-El. Craig brings an incredible sensibility to this story, and Milly is every inch the unique #Supergirl envisioned by Tom… pic.twitter.com/za9Tr8Vryr

We don’t have any official details for the movie yet, but it has been said that Alcock’s Kara Zor-El is going to be making a small appearance in Superman. Plus, we know that Aquaman Jason Momoa is attached to the movie in the role of space bounty hunter Lobo.
Looking at the photo, some fans also assume that the ‘S’ logo with the blue inside it is going to be Supergirl’s logo on her costume. It’s unclear what her final look in the movie is going to be, but it has been said that she has a more punk inspiration like the comic Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Though she may have only starred in a few episodes of House of the Dragon, Alcock is considered to be pretty magnetic, and a lot of fans were happy that she landed the part of Supergirl. Personally I was hoping for her to get the live-action role of Spider-Gwen, but she may very well reach her 30s before Sony decides to introduce that character into live-action.
In the meantime, it looks like DC Studios is moving forward unencumbered. With the previous DCEU having a very well-documented shit-show of a production, fans are hoping that Gunn and his co-head Peter Safran have a good idea of how to future-proof their superhero universe.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is set to release in theaters on June 26, 2026.
