God of War Announced for PC

PlayStation fans are excited for the release of God of War: Ragnarok this year, but the beginning of 2022 will bring the world of Kratos and Atreus to PC for the first time.

Here’s the announcement for the game coming to PC on January 14, 2022:

No special features and extras have been announced for the PC version of God of War, but a lot of fans online are already pondering the idea of mods and customizations that can be made in the game. Off the top of my head, they can give Kratos a skin that looks a lot like his original God of War appearance; maybe Santa Monica Studios can even make that an exclusive skin—I mean, they did the same thing with the Tomb Raider games.

After Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding were ported over to PC, this is probably one of the biggest PlayStation franchises to make that jump. Personally, I’m not a fan of the idea of exclusives, so I think this release is a step in the right direction. Then again, this is a three-year-old game that’s moved past its pop-culture high point. Maybe PlayStation could consider releasing their large titles on PC years after they exclusively release on their console—kind of like movies releasing in theaters first before they get a home release.

Catch God of War when it arrives on PC this Jan. 14, 2022. God of War: Ragnarok is set to come out for the PS5 sometime in 2022 as well.
