GLOW Renewed for a Fourth and Final Season

Netflix had found a hit with their wrestling comedy GLOW, but after a lackluster third season, a lot of fans were worried that the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling were going to get cancelled. The good news is, it looks like we haven’t seen the last of them.

According to Variety, Netflix has renewed GLOW for a fourth and final season. We don’t have any official statement about how the show is moving forward, but we do know that original showrunners Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch will still be at the helm. We should also expect returns from stars Alison Brie, Betty Gilpin, Marc Maron, and the rest.

While the first two seasons of GLOW were phenomenal, a lot of fans thought that the third season kind of lost the flare that was present in previous years. I guess with GLOW 3, it was less about the wrestling, and more about the relationships that the girls were going through during their stint in Vegas. If anything, the show only got back to the fun wrestling bits toward the end when they did a wrestler’s version of A Christmas Carol.

With the Season 4 greenlight though, a lot of fans are happy that the showrunners actually get to end the show properly. Though the series is based on a real short-lived wrestling show of the same name, there have been a lot of creative liberties done to give Netflix’s GLOW a little drama. I think it’s all been fantastic so far, and even though Season 3 didn’t have any wrestling, there was still a lot of really deep character development that I really loved.

No release date has been set for GLOW 4, but hopefully it hits Netflix sometime late next year.
