Mark Salling is probably best known for playing Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the hit show Glee, but he has since run into trouble as 50,000 images of child pornography were found on his computer. With his court sentence due this March, news has come out that Salling has been found dead, with the cause apparent suicide.
TMZ reports that Salling was found dead in his LA home, and it was suspected that he had been dead for quite some time. After pleading guilty to the charges, Salling was expected to serve 4–7 years in jail and was also required to register himself as a sex offender. This was also not the first time that the actor has contemplated suicide, having slashed his wrists last August.
With Salling dead and his offenses brought to light, some fans online have admitted that they are feeling torn when it comes to his loss. On one hand, everyone was sickened by the fact that Salling would possess child pornography; on the other, fans have admitted that his portrayal of Puck on Glee holds a very special place in their hearts.
It seems that some cast members of Glee have not been doing so well since the show ended. Last year, Naya Rivera (who was also Salling’s ex) was being sued for domestic battery by her husband Ryan Dorsey. Everyone also remembers that lead star Cory Monteith died back in 2013 from an accidental overdose.
For now, everyone is probably waiting on what fellow cast members have to say about Salling’s passing.
