If you haven’t heard of Ghost in the Shell before, you will soon. We only have a few months left to wait until the new film adaption of the classic manga, Ghost in the Shell, premieres. Now, a new trailer has dropped for the film, showing Scarlett Johansson’s cyborg, Major, in all her glory. As well as this, we also get some pretty creepy-looking geishas and some very Matrix-style action shots. The new Ghost in the Shell film is hotting up to be a big hit when it releases next year.
Could Ghost in the Shell even be the new Blade Runner? From the shots of suburbia, with huge holographic images flashing, to the dark depth of the shots, the trailer, in all its colourful, tense glory suggests so.
At the film’s global launch party in Tokyo, fans were treated to the new trailer below. The event opened with with Taiko drummers and legendary anime film composer Kenji Kawai. People from across the globe also got to see the behind-the-scenes costumes and props. Sounds awesome, right? In addition to this, there was also a ‘Becoming the Major’ experimental photo booth, which gave fans the chance to see into the life of the film’s main character.
