Game of Thrones – Top 7 Moments: Tyrion Lannister

This is part of a special GeekFeed series in which we cover the top 7 Game of Thrones moments for the remaining 7 original characters leading up to the Season 7 premiere on July 16th. If you’re seeing a theme, you are correct.

By the Light of the Seven, we present Tyrion Lannister’s top 7 series moments (in chronological order)…

I could have made an entire list devoted to every time Tyrion slapped Joffrey or verbally incinerated him in front of a group of people, and been totally satisfied with my list. But a character as rich as Tyrion Lannister is bigger than the whallops he delivered on Joffrey’s snickering little inbred face, or the colorful insults and threats he hurled in his direction. Tyrion is a man of many talents; he’s intellectual, humorous, lusty, strategic, pragmatic, and self-aware. And despite his Lannister heritage, he holds a general respect for people, and has the capability to empathize with the plight of others to a much greater extent than his father or siblings. But most of the people that populate Tyrion’s universe are ignorant to these qualities because all they see is “The Imp.” The Lannister name has done little to protect him from the ridicule of society, and there aren’t enough whores and wine to erase the fact that he’s hated by his father and sister, and laughed at by strangers wherever he goes. These are the kinks in Tyrion’s otherwise sturdy armor, but have also help to construct an vibrant, relatable, and complicated character that we can all root for in the end.
