::SPOILERS LIE AHEAD::
I have to admit, Jon Snow’s character didn’t make that much of a mark on me in the beginning of the series. Beyond evoking some sympathy because he was a good kid but still viewed as the lesser Stark son, when you’re such an honorable straight arrow, it’s hard to stand out in a story that showcases a host of such scenery-chewing characters as The Mother of Dragons, The Mother of Madness, the Imp, Littlefinger, and other morally-gray personalities. He can also be very wishy-washy when it comes to completely owning a leadership role; after all he was pretty much forced into the Lord Commander position, and had to be cajoled by his little sister into taking back Winterfell. But the reason Jon Snow has grown on me, and with the entire universe of Game of Thrones fandom, is because when he is called into action, he is a fierce and fearless warrior, as well as a fair and just leader who will also take your goddamn head if the situation calls for it. It’s taken six seasons, but he’s slowly showing that he, too, can play this game of thrones. If someone forces him to.
